The European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) supports rural businesses to grow and increase their competitiveness and sustainability. It aims to protect the countryside, improve the quality of life, increase diversification of the rural economy and support locally based approaches to rural development.
The D2N2 EAFRD allocation is £5.4 million.
Funding is available under the Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE).

The deadline for Expressions of Interest to these programmes is 31st May 2018.
In addition, there is funding through the Leader programme in eligible areas in D2N2. Leader funding is available to rural businesses, communities, farmers, foresters and land managers. More information can be found here.
